Welcome Prospective Students

by Todd R Johnson last modified 2008-10-07 14:29

We offer Certificate, Masters, and Doctoral Programs in Health Informatics, in the areas of Clinical Informatics, Computational Biomedicine, Learning & Technology, and Public Health Informatics. Our interdisciplinary approach to graduate education provides students from varied educational backgrounds an opportunity to develop expertise in health informatics. Students, along with their faculty advisors, develop individual plans of study that compliment the students' educational background and guide students' development in the area of health informatics and research.

Health Informatics is the study of how health data are collected, stored, and communicated; how these data are processed into health information suitable for administrative and clinical decision making; and how computers and telecommunications technology can be applied to support these processes. Health informaticians are in great demand and may work in various clinical, research and educational environments. There is a widespread, generally acknowledged need for people trained in health informatics. The programs listed below are also described in the 2007-2009 School Catalog.
