Minors in Health Informatics for Public Health Doctoral Students
Areas of study in Public Health require a minor. These minors were developed to help facilitate the Public Health Doctoral student meet the critical competencies in Informatics.
Minor in Health Informatics
An SPH minor in Biostatistics/Health Informatics requires a minimum of three (3) informatics courses beyond PH 1725 Intermediate Biostatistics I and PH 1726 Intermediate Biostatistics II.
The SHIS informatics courses (3 credit hours each) that are listed below have been reviewed and approved for the minor by the Biostatistics Division.
Foundation courses are designed to provide basic knowledge in informatics and information technology and are strongly recommended. With the advice and approval from the SPH advisory committee, a student would also select an additional informatics course that meets his/her career goals.
