HI 5307 Systems Analysis for Health Informatics

The purpose of this course is to assist the student in understanding the components, process and tools used in the necessary components of a health information system. The course will focus on the variety of approaches and tools available for systems analysis. Students will have experience with modeling tools and rapid prototyping tools.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the student will have had the opportunity to meet the following objectives:

  • Compare and contrast strategies for systems analysis.
  • Describe different tools used in systems analysis.
  • Understand the life cycle model used in systems analysis and prototyping.
  • Write the evaluation portion of a design specification.
