HI 5001 Numerical Methods for Health Information Sciences, Biomedical Science and Engineering

Introduction to numerical methods for graduate students and faculty in biomedical engineering and health information sciences.  The topics presented in this course will be particularly useful to students in the computational biomedicine and biomedical engineering focus areas.




Prerequisites

Undergraduate calculus; plus familiarity with Matlab, Mathematica or equivalent

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, students will have the ability to:

  • Solve systems of algebraic, differential, integro-differential and stochastic differential systems, numerically.
  • Use a combination of available and self-written software to solve these problems.
  • Formulate a numerical strategy for the solution  ofan arbitrary mathematical model.
